(More customer reviews)I had this product for a month now and here is couple things I found.
Pros: - small, light and compact. Takes only 4 AA batteries, no recharger or power cord to drag around. Expect 4 to 6 hours extended music time, 1 or 2 hours of Video use. Great on Planes or traveling (just carry extra batteries).
Cons: - Use fresh batteries any old batteries won't work. Noticed if batteries drop below 5 volts (4 AA batteries = 6volts) they iPod will not see it or charge from it. The batteries still have plenty of life in them but you can't use it in this unit.
Quirk: You normally have to turn off the battery pack, plug in the iPod then turn on the battery pack for the iPod to see it.
Wish list: Wish they would have used a two 9 volt batteries instead, because the cut off point is 5 volts, anything below that the iPod will not see it (lightning bolt on battery icon).

I have the 60GB video iPod and it works fine. 15 hour flight to China and no problems at all - power to spare, even watching video most of the time. The "clip on arrangement does not fit the video iPod but that isn't too big a problem.
