(More customer reviews)with the onset of the holiday season, and realizing that the small battery that came with my camera was inadequate with a two year old and two sets of grandparents at Christmas time, i set forth to find a secondary battery to alleviate this problem. Now i only had a few requirements. the first is the battery must work without any gizmos, extra cables, or trying to bypass the built-in charging or connections, which i have seen in a few other batteries. second, it had to be able to run for an extended period of time, since the two year old isn't going to hesitate for a second whilst ripping open gaily wrapped packages to let daddy replace the battery.
upon entering my camera model into Amazon i was surprised by the number of products that came up. lenses, batteries, cases and a few random items that didn't make too much sense. upon narrowing my search i finally came across this product. not only did I get my battery, but I got a second battery, as well as a charging system that allows me to replenish the power in my battery from my vehicle, at home, and in numerous countries around the world. ah, the wonders of modern technology. while there are times that buying a non-OEM product can be a problem, the price was perfect and i took the risk.
I received my batteries only a few days later, even without Prime. yes, they are a third party retailer, but their shipping policy is very good, with a low minimum purchase to get free shipping. while the packaging was minimalist (but i do not purchase batteries for the package they come in) it was acceptable and properly sent.
The batteries fit perfectly into my camera and are recognized promptly, with no problems whatsoever. now i can let my camera run for hours on end without having to worry about suddenly seeing the blinking red symbol that signals that my battery is about to run dry. and with TWO of these batteries I can make videos of my daughter for hours on end, much to the delight and amusement of the grandparents.
I heartily recommend this product, and will definitely look towards this company when next I need to replenish batteries for one of the number of cameras that are owned by people living within my residence.

(More customer reviews)I purchased 2 of these units. I plugged in both and waited for the batteries to charge. The first unit claimed that the batteries were fully charged after about 15 minutes, but they only lasted about 30 minutes in my Garmin Rino 130 (should have lasted several hours). Trying again the charger indicated fully charged again in 15 minutes. Apparently no good. The second set continued to charge and after about 3 hours the unit overheated and melted with the batteries expanding and leaking.

(More customer reviews)I was a bit skeptical about buying an aftermarket battery grip for my new Canon EOS Rebel T2i (550D in other parts of the world), but since using it I have nothing but good things to say about this part.
I recently took a short vacation to Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota and had this grip installed for the entire three day trip. I took hundreds of photos and a lot of video. Note also that I'm not an 'old-school' photographer that likes to use the viewfinder but rather prefer to use 'Live View' screen mode which eats the batteries much more quickly. The batteries that came with the grip lasted for the first two days before running low. I had another set and was able to keep on shooting. I also like the included AA battery tray which gives you the option of powering the camera with six AA batteries (which could be a real life saver in a pinch!).
I would rate the feel, fit & finish and quality of this part to be on par with the camera itself. The plastic and grip are nearly identical to the camera. The controls function perfectly and make portrait position photos more comfortable than I've ever experienced. I have large hands and the comfort factor is the biggest reason that I purchased this to begin with as the normal landscape position is more comfortable as well.
Anyone who has picked up the T2i (550D) knows instantly that it's not a heavy camera and actually is a bit on the lightweight side. This grip with two batteries actually improves the balance by adding heft and size which can create a much better user experience.
The only thing I would caution is to consider buying the package with four batteries to allow for change-outs if you don't already have spares. That said, I highly recommend this product over the $170 OEM grip from Canon (which doesn't include extra batteries) and even if you don't have the spare batteries you can get by on AAs if you need to.

I've now been using this battery grip for about four months and still have nothing but good things to say. The rubberized 'grip' has held up well with no noticeable signs of wear. The battery life hasn't seemed to have diminished with time and use. There have been some negative comments by other users but I still stand by my original comments.

This part has continued to hold up well. The only thing I've noticed is that the printing on the grip by the buttons has worn somewhat as opposed to the printing on the camera itself which has held up with no noticeable wear. Clearly the manufacturing process at Meike is not up to the same level as it is at Canon. That said I have enjoyed flawless performance from this part and it hasn't left my camera since I received it. The batteries have held up equally well.

It doesn't really hold a charge anymore but after 8 yrs. no complaints here! I am now going to purchase another one. You can't go wrong with the Duracell name - there are alot of off brand names out there and you can unknowingly end up with a "reconditioned" battery if you are not careful. This is a reliable battery.

CERT is located at Carnegie Mellon University and, among other things, acts as a clearing house for information pertaining to Internet-related security vulnerabilities.
